Back to the Basics: If you're looking for a class that covers the basics of wilderness survival and primitive skills then this is it. Four days and three nights of hands-on experience building primitive shelters, starting fires with a bowdrill, making rope out of native plants, learning ways of finding and purifying water, gathering and preparing edible plants, burning out containers and stalking around at night. This camp is not physically demanding. Bring whatever camping gear you need to be comfortable (no RVs please!).
Family Camp: This four-day (three-night) camp is especially designed to be experienced as a family. You will learn most of the skills taught in the "Back to the Basics" course, along with more games and hands-on experience.

Not far from our camp is the huge cave our host, Tag Rittel, discovered as a boy. The cave was home to ice age people and animals and is believed to be the mystical stronghold of a bear shaman. The valley holds two ancient ceremonial medicine wheels, as well as age-old dreaming caves and eagle catch pens. We will hike to these sites, learn about the people who lived there, go into the cave, build a sweat lodge and enjoy a wonderful week of learning and exploring. Call for travel information.
Edible and Medicinal Plants Class: For thousands of years we have used plants as food, to promote health and treat illness, and as tools for survival.
